UTC has teamed with DAMM Cellular Systems to provide an eight-part webinar series that addresses several topics related land mobile radio system design. Topics include traffic management theory, outdoor and indoor propagation, IP traffic concepts and TETRA radio air interface technology. The sessions are led by an engineer with over twenty years of experience in TETRA system solutions design. Professional development hour (PDH) certificates will be available for sessions attended.

This webinar introduces the basics of outdoor radio propagation and explains concepts like diversity reception and antenna patterns. Focus is on calculating the link budget and selecting suitable antenna configurations, depending on the requirements. Aim is to understand the principle of radio propagation, being able to setup a link budget for a narrowband radio communication system and knowing different antenna configuration with their pros and cons.
