Description:UTC Webinar: RF Safety for Utilities Summary: The FCC has recently updated its rules on RF exposure from wireless operations, to the public and to workers. While the RF exposure level limits remain the same, the FCC rules have changed so that land mobile and microwave licensees are no longer categorically exempt from routine evaluation of licensed, and unlicensed, facilities. This session will briefly explain the dangers of RF exposure and the safety levels established by the FCC. For licensees, we will review the new requirements and how to comply with them. For workers, we will provide some guidelines on working near RF antennas.
