The Utilities Telecom Council Fiber Optic Professional (FOP) certification program is intended to identify the professional competence of industry professionals in the growing utility fiber optics industry. There are three levels of certification that recognize proficiency in different areas of fiber optic knowledge and skills.

For each of the UTC FOP certification levels, The Light Brigade’s training classes and associated student manuals are intended to help the attendee prepare to pass the UTC certification exams. The objective is to ensure that attendees have a firm grasp on the technical information, best practices, knowledge and technical skill sets in order to meet the certification exam requirements and successfully work on utility-based fiber optic networks. The materials also are intended to serve as a reference tool for future use.
